About FoDK

FoDK is a non profit making charitable organisation whose vision is to provide a three course cold or chilled meal - or food to be used in the preparation of a meal - once a week,  to those in need across the City of Wolverhampton. This service is entirely free of charge, non judgemental and does not require guests to provide proof of need. FoDK resources all its own funds and monies raised are used to purchase food and packaging for the project.

FoDK was set up in March 2020 from a private home in the City and now, each week, over 50 dedicated volunteers purchase or collect surplus food, prepare meals and deliver to over 970 guests across Wolverhampton on a Thursday afternoon. These visits to our guests by the same volunteers build up relationships and support, and signpost those in need to other services that might be able to help them.

FoDK was granted the Kings Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS) in November 2024 and their citation, signed by King Charles reads “Showing the art of compassion, kindness and sharing through food”.
